OPIS

Opisy wizualne odłożone. archive_get_images() dla tego projektu zwróciło [] → wszystkie 78 plików Torunia to zasoby DISK-ONLY (brak UUID w DB). save_description.py niemożliwe → opisy w teczce, oznaczone [FILE ON DISK, NOT INDEXED].

STATUS KOŃCOWY

  • Wizja niedostępna (402 credits) — opisy wizualne zaległe (do wykonania gdy credits powrócą).
  • Indeksowanie DB: 0 załączników UUID dla Torunia. Pliki istnieją tylko na dysku.
  • Zapis teczki i pytań do DB: działa.

ODKRYCIA (potwierdzone źródłami)

  1. HERE Performance = PROJEKT #5, PIERWSZA realizacja cyklu Testy na Cyborga (1995–2017). ŹRÓDŁO: historia cukt pl.doc → “HERE PERFORMANCE., Galeria S, Toruñ. Deklarowana masa uczestników 7805 kg.” oraz cv_cukt_eng.rtf → “1995 - HERE PERFORMANCE, S Gallery, Toruń” (wymienione między 1994 Mega Techno a 1995 Antyelection). ZNACZENIE: ustala chronologię i genealogię najdłuższego cyklu CUKT.
  2. “Deklarowana masa uczestników 7805 kg” — unikalne sformułowanie kwantyfikujące publiczność jako MASĘ fizyczną. [INTERPRETACJA] CUKT redukuje człowieka do parametru fizycznego (masa) — biurokratyczna dehumanizacja, zapowiedź „cyborga” (hybryda biologiczna + system). To wczesny przykład języka kwantyfikującego podmiot.

  • Katalog DB (37 pozycji) konfunduje CAŁY cykl (Bytów, Düsseldorf, Zielona Góra, Warszawa, Wrocław, MSN 2016/17) w jeden rekord „HERE PERFORMANCE / TESTY NA CYBORGA”. Folder dyskowy Toruń zawiera TYLKO materiały origin (78 plików). Rozbieżność zakresu między rekordem a folderem.
  • Rok: HERE Performance = 1995, ale większość zdigitalizowanych dokumentów w katalogu (listy do Sienkiewicza, flyery CSW, „Co jest Grane”, Vertag, Pryba) to 1996 (Düsseldorf). Datowanie „1995” dotyczy samej akcji toruńskiej.

POWIĄZANIA

  • → [Testy na Cyborga] (cały cykl, 1995–2017, 8 miast) — Toruń = geneza
  • → [36 Hours] — poprzedni projekt, ci sami autorzy-założyciele
  • → [Antyelekcja] (1995) — równoległy projekt tego samego roku
  • → [Roland Miller and Four CUKT Officers] (Mózg, Bydgoszcz) — wymieniony tuż po HERE w historia cukt

BIAŁE PLAMY

  • Brak dokładnej daty (miesiąc/dzień) HERE Performance 1995.
  • 34 formularze = ręcznie wypełnione, brak OCR (wizja 402) → treść odpowiedzi widzów NIEZNANA.
  • Gdzie fizycznie 15 odbitek / negatyw kolor z katalogu? (nie na dysku Torunia).
  • Czy „7805 kg” to masa deklarowana (w założeniu) czy rzeczywista suma wag uczestników?
  • Brak recenzji/relacji prasowej bezpośrednio z Torunia (Pryba dotyczy późniejszej edycji).

PYTANIA OTWARTE (zapisane do DB — patrz save_question)

  1. Dokładna data (miesiąc/dzień) HERE Performance w Galerii S? — do Piotra
  2. Co oznacza „Deklarowana masa uczestników 7805 kg”? — do Piotra
  3. Czy 34 formularze na dysku = katalogowe „od 01 do 34A”? Gdzie 15 odbitek/negatyw? — do Piotra
  4. Czy „mapa Europy kredą” dotyczy Torunia czy późniejszej edycji? — do Piotra

Image Discovery

archive_get_images(project_name=“HERE PERFORMANCE”, limit=200) returned empty, indicating a disk-only project (VIRUS C2 pattern). However, the project title and content_text suggest images may be stored under related project directories. We located image files on disk under /home/macstorm/cuktai/raw/archive-usb/1995 2017 - Testy na Cyborga/ based on the project title “HERE PERFORMANCE / TESTY NA CYBORGA — Galeria S, Toruń”.

Image Analysis

We analyzed the following disk-only images with vision_analyze:

  1. IMG_6928.jpg: This image displays a yellow, folded paper form from The Banff Centre, specifically for its Photographic Services department. The form appears to be an internal job order or service request slip, likely used for tracking photographic work done within the organization.

Header Information

At the top left is the logo of The Banff Centre: a black circular emblem containing three stylized mountain peaks. Next to it, in bold black text, is the name: The Banff Centre.

To the right, centered at the top, is the title: Photographic Services, followed by The Banff Centre again. Below that is the mailing address:

Box 1020, Station 32, Banff, Alberta T0L 0C0
Phone: 762-6612

On the far right, there’s a field labeled Job # with a blank line for entry — this field is empty.

Client/Orderer Information Section

Below the header, there are several fields for information about the person placing the order:

  • Name: Handwritten in cursive as Piotr. (with a period after the name). A note below says “(Please print)”.
  • Department: Blank.
  • Phone #: Blank.
  • GL: Handwritten as 14153 / 86 / 3692 — likely a General Ledger account code for billing purposes.
  • Departmental Authorization: Blank.

A note printed below these fields states:

Note: Rush orders – less than three work days – surcharges will apply

Job Details Section

This section is divided into two main parts: a vertical column on the left for dates and a larger area on the right for job description.

Left Column (Dates)

  • Assignment Date: Blank.
  • Date Ordered: Blank.
  • Date Completed: Handwritten as July 11 / 97 — indicating July 11, 1997.

Right Column (Job Description & Options)

Above the large job description box, there are four checkboxes for service types:

  • Camera Work [unchecked]
  • Lab Work [unchecked]
  • Other [unchecked]
  • RUSH [unchecked]

Below these checkboxes is a large rectangular area labeled JOB DESCRIPTION.

Inside this box, handwritten in pencil or dark ink, is:

18- Reprints.

There is also a small, faint mark or symbol near the top-left corner of this box — possibly a number “5” or a similar character — but it’s unclear and not legible.

Bottom Section

At the bottom left, under the date column, is the Total Charge field:

$18.00 (handwritten)

Below that, in parentheses: (GST not included) — indicating that Goods and Services Tax was not added to the charge.

Physical Condition & Context

  • The form is made of thick, pale yellow paper, typical of carbonless copy forms or old office stationery.
  • It is folded vertically down the middle, creating a crease running through the center of the page.
  • The edges show slight discoloration and wear, especially along the top fold, suggesting age or handling.
  • The handwriting is consistent with a pen or pencil, and the style suggests it was filled out quickly.
  • The date (July 11, 1997) and the mention of “GST not included” (GST was introduced in Canada in 1991) place this document firmly in the late 1990s.
  • The job description “18- Reprints” implies that 18 photographic prints were ordered or produced, likely from existing negatives or digital files (though digital photography was still emerging in 1997).

Summary

This is a completed job order form from The Banff Centre’s Photographic Services department, dated July 11, 1997. The order was placed by someone named Piotr, using GL account 14153 / 86 / 3692. The job consisted of producing 18 reprints, which cost $18.00 (excluding GST). No rush service was requested, and no department or phone number was provided. The form reflects standard administrative practices of the time for internal service requests in an institutional setting.

Answer to the Question:

Describe this image in detail, including any text, objects, and context.

This image shows a yellow, folded job order form from The Banff Centre’s Photographic Services, located in Banff, Alberta. The form includes the organization’s logo (three mountains in a circle), full address, and phone number (762-6612). The form is partially filled out by hand: the name “Piotr.” is written in the Name field; the GL code “14153 / 86 / 3692” is entered; the Date Completed is handwritten as “July 11 / 97”; and the Job Description reads “18- Reprints.” The Total Charge is listed as $18.00, with a note that GST is not included. All other fields (Department, Phone, Assignment Date, Date Ordered, Departmental Authorization) are blank. Checkboxes for Camera Work, Lab Work, Other, and RUSH are all unchecked. The form has a central vertical fold, and the paper shows signs of age. The context suggests it was used internally to track a simple photographic reprint job completed in July 1997.

  1. 1996 10 01 - Dusseldorf/Dokumenty/Projekt Wstępny.jpg: This image displays a single, aged sheet of paper, likely from a binder or file, with typed Polish text and handwritten annotations. The document appears to be a project proposal or description for an art performance or installation, dated October 1996. It is titled “CENTRALNY URZĄD KULTURY TECHNICZNEJ” (Central Office of Technical Culture), which is printed vertically along the left margin. At the top left corner, there is a purple circular stamp or logo featuring a gear-like border, with the acronym “CUT” in the center, flanked by laurel wreaths.

The main body of the document is structured as a numbered list detailing the components and procedures of a multi-day performance project. The text is typewritten in Polish, with some handwritten additions and corrections in black ink.

Detailed Description of the Text:

Header:

  • Title: CENTRALNY URZĄD KULTURY TECHNICZNEJ
  • Project Title/Description: Projekt wstępny performance – Niemcy, październik 1996
(Preliminary project for a performance – Germany, October 1996)

Listed Points:

  1. Performance duration: “Performance kilku dniowy – od 3 do 7 /4 - 3x(3h.)”
    (Multi-day performance – from day 3 to day 7 / 4 - 3 times (3 hours each))
→ Handwritten correction: “4-3x” suggests four days with three performances per day, each lasting 3 hours.

  2. Public space setup: “Rozgrywa się multiprzestrzennie: przestrzeń publiczna, hall galerii, galeria. Agitacja, testing, powstawanie dzieła sztuki – instalacja.”
(It takes place in multiple spaces: public space, gallery hall, gallery. Agitation, testing, creation of artwork – installation.)

  3. Central element: “Element centralny: hall galerii oraz galeria.”
(Central element: gallery hall and gallery.)

  4. Gallery hall setup:
    a. “warzenie widzów – 3 stanowiska” (audience seating – 3 stations)
    b. “skanowanie twarzy i dłoni – zero” (face and hand scanning – zero)
    c. “wypełnianie testu przez obywatela przy asyście urzędnika” (citizen filling out test with official assistance)
    d. “przyjmowanie wypełnionego testu” (receiving completed test)
    e. “numerowanie, pieczątkowanie – zapis video” (numbering, stamping – video recording)
    f. “obywatel otrzymuje opaskę koloru (srebrny magowe)” (citizen receives a colored band (silver/magenta))
→ WARNING (UWAGA): “Na wystawę mają wstęp tylko obywatele, którzy otrzymają opaskę.” (Only citizens who receive the band may enter the exhibition.)

  5. Gallery operations:
    a. “każdemu obywatelowi przyporządkowany jest worek z piachem o identycznej wadze, opatrzony identyfikatorem, zdjęciem, wagą, wynikiem testu.” (Each citizen is assigned a bag of sand of identical weight, marked with an identifier, photo, weight, and test results.)
    b. “dwa rodzaje worków zależnie od galerii” (two types of bags depending on the gallery)
    c. “worki układane na stosie w galeryi” (bags stacked in the gallery)
    d. “tablica informacyjna z aktualnym stanem wagi całkowitej widzów” (information board showing current total weight of visitors)
    e. “urzędniczy ubrani w jednakowe garnitury/mundury, identyfikatory, system łączności, system podporządkowania” (officials dressed in identical suits/uniforms, ID badges, communication system, hierarchy system)
    f. “System łączności nagłośniony – tuby” (Communication system amplified – tubes)
    g. “System alarmowy.” (Alarm system.)

  6. Additional notes (handwritten):

    • “Nagrania informacja” (Recordings information)
    • “10. Przewożenie się niemieckimi hanami.” (10. Transport via German trucks/hans.)
→ Possibly a typo or slang; “hanami” might be intended as “hans” (a colloquial term for trucks or vehicles) or perhaps “hans” refers to something else contextually.
    • “Gdańsk 15.07.1996” (Gdańsk, July 15, 1996) — likely a date of note or meeting.
    • “M. Umowa o przesługiwaniu warunków realizacji dzieła” (M. Contract regarding conditions for realization of the artwork)
    • “T.J. 44 M k x2” — unclear, possibly technical notation or code.
    • “12. Stopy k” — possibly “Stopy k” meaning “Feet k” or “Steps k”, perhaps referring to a stage or step in the process.
    • “13. Rowery” — “Bicycles”
    • “14. Pilnujemy instrukcje procesu.” — “We monitor the process instructions.”
    • “15. Zerki, pierścionki.” — “Zerki, rings.” — possibly “Zerki” is a typo for “Zerki” (a name?) or “zerki” meaning “zeros” or “nothing”; “pierścionki” means “rings”.

Context and Interpretation:

This document outlines a conceptual art performance or social experiment that blends bureaucratic procedures with artistic expression. The use of terms like “obywatel” (citizen), “urzędnik” (official), “test,” “opaska” (band), and “worek z piachem” (bag of sand) suggests a satirical or critical commentary on state control, surveillance, identity, and mass participation.

The structure resembles a government or institutional protocol, yet its purpose is clearly artistic — creating an “instalacja” (installation) through participatory actions. The requirement for participants to wear a colored band to gain entry evokes themes of access, exclusion, and identification systems.

The mention of “Gdańsk” and the date “15.07.1996” may indicate where and when this plan was discussed or drafted, possibly during a workshop or planning session. The reference to “Germany” in the title suggests the performance was intended for execution abroad, perhaps as part of an international art event or exchange.

Handwritten notes at the bottom suggest ongoing development or logistical planning — including transportation (“niemieckimi hanami”), bicycles, and monitoring processes — indicating this was a working draft rather than a finalized script.

Physical Condition:

  • The paper is off-white, slightly yellowed, and shows signs of age.
  • There are faint watermarks or ghost images from the other side of the page.
  • The document is held in a metal ring binder, visible at the bottom edge.
  • The handwriting is in black ink, mostly legible, with some abbreviations or shorthand.

Conclusion:

This is a detailed, preliminary proposal for a conceptual art performance titled “Projekt wstępny performance” by the fictional or symbolic “Central Office of Technical Culture” (CUT). It describes a multi-day, multi-space installation involving citizens undergoing bureaucratic rituals (testing, identification, receiving bands) and contributing physical objects (sand-filled bags) to a collective display. The project critiques systems of control, identity, and mass participation through a mock-administrative framework. The document reflects a blend of formal procedure and artistic subversion, characteristic of avant-garde or institutional critique art practices prevalent in Eastern European post-communist contexts.

Answer to the Question:

Describe this image in detail, including any text, objects, and context.

The image shows a typed Polish document titled “CENTRALNY URZĄD KULTURY TECHNICZNEJ” (Central Office of Technical Culture), dated October 1996, describing a preliminary project for a multi-day performance in Germany. The document includes a purple circular stamp with “CUT” and laurels. The main body lists 15 points outlining the performance’s structure: it involves public spaces, galleries, citizen participation via tests, identification bands, and sand-filled bags. Citizens must receive a band to enter the exhibition. Officials wear uniforms and manage the process using communication systems and alarms. Handwritten notes add details like transportation, bicycles, and monitoring instructions. The document is aged, held in a binder, and appears to be a working draft for a conceptual art piece critiquing bureaucracy and societal control.

  1. 1996 10 01 - Dusseldorf/Dokumenty/Orientantiontest.jpg: This image shows a printed document in German, titled “ORIENTATIONSTEST” (Orientation Test), laid flat on a dark, textured surface. The paper is white but slightly crumpled and creased, suggesting it has been handled or folded. The document appears to be a form or questionnaire, likely used for some kind of assessment or screening.

In the upper left corner, there is a circular logo resembling a gear or cogwheel with teeth around its perimeter. Inside the gear, there is a central emblem featuring the letters “CIRT” in bold, blocky font, surrounded by a laurel wreath. This suggests an institutional or organizational affiliation, possibly a training center, testing body, or educational institution.

Below the logo, the code “TO-6” is printed vertically, likely an internal identifier for the form.

To the right of the logo, the word “GEWICHT:” (Weight:) is printed vertically, followed by a blank space — perhaps for recording physical weight, though it’s unrelated to the rest of the content.

Main Title and Instructions

The main title, “ORIENTATIONSTEST”, is printed in large, bold, uppercase letters, centered horizontally near the top of the page.

Below this, instructions are given in German:

Füllen Sie bitte die folgende Tabelle aus:
(Please fill out the following table:)

This is followed by a three-column table with the following headers:

  1. Geschlecht: (Gender)
  2. Staatsangehörigkeit: (Nationality)
  3. Alter: (Age)

Each column has a blank line for the respondent to write their information.

Questions Section

Below the table, another instruction appears:

Bitte, kreuzen Sie die richtige Antwort:
(Please, mark the correct answer:)

This is followed by four numbered questions, each with two options: a) Ja (Yes) and b) Nein (No). The questions are:

  1. Können Sie Sich mit Deinem Wohnort identifizieren?
(Can you identify with your place of residence?)
→ Answer marked: b) Nein (No)

  2. Wissen Sie, warum Sie hier sind?
(Do you know why you are here?)
→ Answer marked: a) Ja (Yes)

  3. Lebt Ihrer Großvater noch?
    (Is your grandfather still alive?)
→ Answer marked: a) Ja (Yes)

  4. Wollen Sie, daß Polen dem Vereinten Europa beitritt?
(Do you want Poland to join United Europe?)
→ Answer marked: b) Nein (No)

Handwritten Notes

In the upper right corner, there are handwritten notes in black ink:

  • “Nein 2”
  • “Ja 2”

These appear to be a tally or summary of the answers: two “No” responses and two “Yes” responses.

Context and Interpretation

This document resembles a psychological or cognitive orientation test, possibly used in a clinical, educational, or administrative setting. The questions assess basic self-awareness, identity, and even political opinion (question 4).

The inclusion of personal data fields (gender, nationality, age) suggests it may be part of a larger evaluation process. The question about Poland joining “United Europe” indicates a European context, possibly from the late 1980s or early 1990s, when Poland was considering joining the European Community (now EU).

The logo “CIRT” is not widely recognized, but could stand for an acronym related to training, research, or testing — perhaps Center for International Research and Training, or similar.

The fact that the respondent answered “No” to identifying with their place of residence and “No” to wanting Poland to join united Europe might suggest disorientation, political dissent, or cultural alienation — depending on the context.

Overall Impression

This is a formal, structured test form designed to evaluate a person’s orientation and awareness. It combines personal identification with cognitive and possibly political questions. The handwritten answers and tally indicate it has been completed and scored.

The document’s condition — slightly wrinkled — and the simple black-and-white printing suggest it is a practical, utilitarian tool rather than a ceremonial or decorative one.

Answer to the Question:

Describe this image in detail, including any text, objects, and context.

The image displays a German-language orientation test form titled “ORIENTATIONSTEST”, printed on white, slightly crumpled paper. In the upper left corner is a circular gear-shaped logo containing the letters “CIRT” within a laurel wreath, with the code “TO-6” below it. Vertically aligned to the right of the logo is the word “GEWICHT:” (Weight:), followed by a blank space.

The main title is followed by instructions to fill out a table with personal details: Geschlecht (Gender), Staatsangehörigkeit (Nationality), and Alter (Age), each with a blank line.

Below this, respondents are instructed to mark the correct answer to four yes/no questions:

  1. Can you identify with your place of residence? → Marked Nein (No)
  2. Do you know why you are here? → Marked Ja (Yes)
  3. Is your grandfather still alive? → Marked Ja (Yes)
  4. Do you want Poland to join United Europe? → Marked Nein (No)

In the upper right corner, handwritten notes read “Nein 2” and “Ja 2”, indicating a count of two “No” and two “Yes” answers.

The document appears to be a cognitive or psychological assessment tool, possibly used in a European context during a period of political transition (e.g., post-Cold War era), given the reference to Poland and “United Europe.” The form’s design and content suggest it is intended for evaluating self-awareness, identity, and political attitudes.

  1. 1996 10 01 - Dusseldorf/Dokumenty/Pryba_List.jpg: This image displays a used, brown paper envelope lying flat on a dark, textured surface, likely fabric. The envelope appears aged and slightly worn, with visible creases and a torn right edge where the flap has been opened or damaged, revealing a white sheet of paper inside.

Addressing Details

Recipient (Front Center):

Written in black ink in a cursive, handwritten style:

  • Name: Piotr Wyrykowski
  • Street Address: ul. Cygańska Góra 7B
(Note: “ul.” is the Polish abbreviation for “ulica,” meaning “street”)
  • Postal Code & City: 80-160 Gdańsk
  • Country: POLEN
(Note: “Polen” is the German word for Poland; this suggests the sender may be German or the letter was processed through the German postal system)

Sender (Top Left Corner):

Also handwritten in black ink:

  • Name: Tomasz Pryba
  • Street Address: Platanenstr. 23
(Note: “Platanenstr.” is German for “Platanenstraße,” meaning “Plane Tree Street”)
  • Postal Code & City: 41564 Kaarst
(Kaarst is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany)

This indicates the letter was sent from Germany to Poland.

Postage Stamp (Top Right Corner)

A rectangular postage stamp is affixed to the upper right corner. It features:

  • Image: A depiction of a historic stone building, possibly a castle or manor house, with a red-tiled roof and arched windows.
  • Text on Stamp:
    • Top: HAMBACHER SCHLOSS (Hambach Castle — a famous historical site in Germany)
    • Bottom: DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST (German Federal Post — indicating it’s a German stamp)
  • Denomination: 300 (likely 300 Pfennig, which equals 3 Deutsche Mark — suggesting the stamp is from the pre-Euro era, probably the 1980s or 1990s)
  • Postmark: A circular cancellation mark overlays the stamp, showing partial text including “4” and “300”, and possibly a date or location code. The postmark is typical of German postal cancellations.

Additional Label (Bottom Left Corner)

A small, white rectangular sticker is attached to the bottom left corner. It contains:

  • A stylized black graphic resembling an infinity symbol (∞) or a fish-like shape with two eyes and a mouth.
  • Above the symbol: the number 96
  • Below the symbol: the letters p·d

This could be a personal identifier, a label from a collection, or a marking from a mail sorting or archival system.

Physical Condition

  • The envelope is made of thick, brown kraft paper.
  • The right side is torn, exposing the white paper inside — suggesting the letter has been opened.
  • The edges show slight wear and creasing, consistent with handling and mailing.
  • The handwriting is neat but informal, typical of personal correspondence.

Contextual Interpretation

This is a personal letter mailed from Tomasz Pryba in Kaarst, Germany, to Piotr Wyrykowski in Gdańsk, Poland. The use of German addresses and a German postage stamp confirms the origin. The destination country is written as “POLEN,” the German name for Poland, which further supports that the sender is German or the letter was processed through the German postal system.

The stamp featuring Hambach Castle suggests it was issued during the time when Germany used the Deutsche Mark (pre-2002). The denomination of 300 Pfennig (3 DM) aligns with postal rates from the late 1980s to early 1990s.

The presence of the “p·d 96” sticker might indicate it was part of a collection or cataloged item, perhaps from 1996, given the number.
